Like I said, something is oddly suspicious about this picture, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Hmmm.

An American Flag Pin Made In China Seems Ironic
I thought this was kind of amusing when I saw it, an American flag pin in a plastic bag clearly marked MADE IN CHINA. That seems kind of ironic to me. You would think an American flag pin would be made in America. Not so as you can see. I wonder if the Chinese pin is made in America? That would be even more ironic.
I don’t have a problem with stuff made in China as long as it doesn’t break almost immediately like my pumpkin carving kit I purchased this past Halloween. It was made in China and the little saw that came with it that I was using to do all the intricate cutting, snapped about 30 minutes in and I had to finish the job with a steak knife. You can imagine how easy that was. I wasn’t a happy camper that day, but I wasn’t about to let it ruin the festivities. I’ve got skills, so it turned out okay.
I’m wondering though, is anything not made in China? I’m going to have a look around the house just to see. Hold on a minute. Okay here’s what I’ve discovered. A jacket and a shirt I got from Old Navy were made in India and Sri Lanka. The can of tuna in my kitchen cupboard is a product of Thailand. My cell phone is Korean. My TV is Japanese. My shoes are Chinese. And a bottle of shampoo I bought the other day at Costco is American. So I guess there are a few things not made in China. Of course when I try to make a point that everything is made there, the only thing I could find when I looked around were a pair of shoes. That just shows you how smart I am. So much for my 128 IQ.
If you’re feeling particularly bored you should have a look around your house at random items and see how many things are made in China. And if you’re really bored, you could report your findings on the comment section of this post. And if you’re really really bored, you could just go to sleep. It’s up to you. It’s your life.
