The worst thing about picking your nose is when someone sees you doing it and gives that look of disgust. The pick itself doesn’t bother you. You don’t have a problem sticking your finger in your nostril and digging for gold in hopes of coming up with a nice big juicy nugget to help alleviate the plug. But what you don’t want, is a witness. Once that person has seen it, they’ll never look at you the same way again. They might tolerate you because they have to, but the relationship has been forever changed. Of course if it’s a family member or someone else close to you, they’ll get over it. No big deal. But if it’s someone you work with, forget about it. You may as well have keyed their car or puked on them at last year’s Christmas party after you drank one too many Piña Coladas. In their mind, you won’t be Joe anymore, instead you’ll be the guy that was picking his nose by the water cooler then rinsing off his finger in the disposable paper cup.
The truth is, sometimes you just have to pick your nose. You have no choice. Blowing it doesn’t help. It would be wonderful if it did … but no matter how hard you blow, no success. When that happens, desperate times call for desperate measures. The only other thing that’s going to help you now is the pick. Like it or not, it has to be done. I won’t go into great deal about the pick because I’m pretty sure you’re already familiar with it. You have your own techniques that work best for you. Me merely mentioning that you have a technique might be grossing you out. But as long as I don’t have to see it, what you do with your fingers and your nose is your business. I respect your right to pick.

When do we hit the age were we give a sh**? My three year old will have her fingers up her nose and I’ll ask her, “Laila, what are you doing, that’s gross” and she’ll look at me like I’m the biggest freakin idiot in the world and say, “MOM, I got a booger, duh!”

Such a cute photo…I used to tell my kids they should be careful or they might poke their eye out!! Of course that was when they were old enough to know that wasn’t true and they would look at me as though I was crazy and keep on diggin…

I dont mind people picking their nose but my # 1 pet peeve is people who pick their nose and drive .

A friend of mine once told me that when she complained to her boyfriend that they do not have intimate moments anymore, he offered to pick her nose. The boyfriend claimed that is the most intimate thing you can do for another because it is just one of those things you never do. Let me tell you that she cannot even tell me the story without a straight face.
